Texas to pay wrongly convicted

It seems out of character for Texas, but it pays a lot better than most jobs.

"Exonerees will get $80,000 for each year they spent behind bars."

If someone offered you $80,000 to spend a year as a prisoner in a Texas jail, would you take it? I sure wouldn't!

It's about f***ing time!

Who says we Texans are hard-a**sed?

I bet that's payoff to prevent lawsuits that would actually end up resulting in a lot more money for the individuals considering that most likely there was some improper procedure from the prosecutors involved. After all, they did put away innocent people.

The only reason why they would be offering $80k is to prevent possibly losing $100k/year jailed along with much more damning media coverage of their crooked justice system.


/I wish there was media coverage and federal action against Louisiana's corrupt justice system and corrupt public offices.
