is anyone here a pagan or something similar?
it would be interesting to chat about my beliefs with a likeminded soul

Starting off with a blank slate, I would be a pagan.

I believe all that really exists is matter, energy and space. I cannot take the gods literally.

Well, the word originated as a derogatory term for someone who follows practically any religion that isn't Christianity or Judaism. Personally I try to avoid using it - there are so many diverse sets of religious beliefs that it is stupid to lump them all together under one label - especially one that existed for the sole purpose of asserting that there is something so special about Christianity that there deserves to be two categories - a) Christianity, and b) everything else. It's as ridiculous as if we were to put Judaism, Islam, Shinto and the Norse religion all under the same umbrella and refer to them as the single entity 'aHellenism' or, more to the point, 'the religion [singular] of those blasphemers who fail to acknowledge the supremacy of our Lord Zeus as King of the Gods', referring to them only in terms of the fact that they are different to the Greek religion, rather than in terms of the positive claims made by those religions.

So, anyway, to the OP:

Which specific religion do you follow (i.e. which gods do you think exist, etc)?

I'm Pagan-catholic, and my partner is Nouveau-pagan.

I'm fascinated by the way older pagan beliefs were incorporated into local Catholic tradition, providing hints to the authentic prior traditions. The Old Eurropean Civilization (pre-Indo-European) is also a Special Interest.

Nouveau-pagan is my joking term for the current diffuse nature-oriented beliefs. Neo-pagans try to re-create or reclaim old traditions, nouveau-pagans celebrate being part of the natural world, without much formal ritual.

I'm Pagan! And definitely looking for people to talk to.

I used to be. While I don't really 'believe' In many of the things Pagans do, I still have a interest in them. My dress style still says pagan, and I still use ouija boards for fun.

As of now, I am a Apatheist. Basically it is a atheist, but without the certainty that there is no god. The way I look at it, if there is a god, or some supreme spirit/spirits, they don't play any role in my life.

pagan technically refers to anyone not christian, jewish or muslim. however in modern times there are many references. im an ecclectic pagan meaning i dont follow a particular tradition, but borrow from many as they suit my beliefs.

Er, the Romani people (or 'gyspsies' as you call them) is an ethnical group, not a religion.

EDIT: Also, believing in Psychic powers doesn't necessarily mean that one isn't Christian, Muslim or Jewish, and people who are not religious can also believe in Psychic powers. (Though it's just as unsubstantiated a claim as religions are, maybe that's the cause of the confusion.)

EDIT2: The same for believing in the effects of alternative medicine.

I go to friday night goat slaughterings at the community center. I also partake in orgies. I'm also a hippy, if that counts.

I think I identify more with pagans than I do with anything else....meaning I am always in awe of nature. It's not an easy feeling to define or for most ppl to take seriously. Usually I get ridiculed for the simplistic beauty man tears down for progress.

But I guess it all depends on how one defines pagan....

I rather like Aphrodite. I suppose that it might be said that I worship her, but in my own peculiar way.

Yeah I have a deity by the name Bastet in the form of a cat statue. Sometimes I feel like the goddess herself whenever I find myself surrounded by cats in my own yard.

The guy who sold it to me said it would bring me luck. I guess what he meant was great luck in attracting cats.....
