Which is the 'Greatest' of the Seven Deadly Sins?

In your opinion, which is 'greatest'? If you had to choose just one, which would it be?

My answer is simple - gluttony. It allows you to indulge in as much of the others as one desires.

I'm too lazy to vote, probably because I've overeaten and I'm busy counting my money while letching at a nubile young wench on TV and feeling envious of her boyfriend. I could punch his eyes out but I've too much pride to do that.

I chose envy I've noticed most human conflicts arise out of humans being insecure about themselves and their own beliefs so they react by harming others and beleifs and ideas whom they feel threatened by.

The seven sins seem trivial to me.

'Sloth' describes spending all day watching TV better than it describes doing nothing, even when you can easily prevent a mass atrocity take place.
'Lust' describes being unfaithful better than it describes prolonged and violent paedophilia.
'gluttony' is a extra McD's., not the opulence of dictators in starving countries.
'Wrath' is shouting at your partner rather than clipping motorcyclists with your car on quiet country roads just because you can get away with their deaths.
'Greed' isn't an ample description of the minds of those who exploit the vaunrable.
'Pride' and 'envy' are nothing.


Any good person can commit any of the seven sins.
No good person can understand how someone else can commit real sins.

Lust is great! Everyone who lusts loves it.

Frankly, I rate gullibility as the greatest sin, but that sin is unacceptable in a religious context.

I'd have to debate that they're all secondary to the real bottomline evil - 46 chromosomes worth of 'the human condition'. As long as we're slaves to our own design human culture will continue much as it has for tens of thousands of years.

Tech, stop contradicting yourself that much =.= You started with genetics, and you end up talking about "human culture", where in fact, "human culture" IS what is affecting our genetics. The most obvious example would be having to wash all your clothes yourselves, when now a washing machine can do it for you while you do something else <.<, less work, etc. which has an impact on your epigenome (or how your genome is read and manifests itself). <.<

I think wrath caused by fear might be the maker of most conflicts.

Wrath, greed, pride and envy are nasty states that are often found within the same individual at the same time.

Sloth-nothing wrong with taking things slowly.

Gluttony and lust--very enjoyable sins, at least in moderation.

The only real deadly sin is irrationality. Since it is the only one, it is the greatest.
