nobody does, people would prefer to stand around talking about somebody who is doing something rather than doing something themselves. It crushes my spirit when people are really negative and restrict originality and progress

ie. The father of a friend of mine was pitching in the world series and he got home runned on and they lost the game. To this day he can hardly go anywhere without someone coming up to him and heckling him for it. So you are telling me that because you watched an event on tv, you now have the right to judge a world class athelite on one of his shortcommings? Isn't it worse to have not been a pitcher in the major leauges by an exponential factor and to just be a lazy douche that watches tv all the time complaining about how someone else had something unfortunate happen. 8O

You shoulder the criticism of others by making yourself well known.
That is how it works, even if it appears unfair. People criticise popular things for being just that.
It's best ignored, otherwise celebrities and sports players would lose thier minds through negativity.

Not what I was expecting...but he's a performer and he didn't perform. It opens him to criticism just like if a musician had a bad performance. In fact, it's a higher stakes since he's making good money. But with that said: I think the people should just be able to live without the garbage. Comment about it on the forums/call-in shows....not when the guy is just trying to get on with his life.

Was kinda expecting mind your own business as far as things one does at home that doesn't affect anyone that they could still be arrested for. Things like being nude in your backyard (with a reasonable fence) or smoking weed.

The greater one is, the greater society's expectations of you are.
The Loser is not criticized for being a loser, even if he becomes a worse loser... Because the expectations of him have not been failed.
A Winner IS criticized for the slightest flaw, because that flaw does not meet up with the expectation of perfection that people put upon them.

The expectations do not increase linearly either. double your greatness, and you will more than double the expectations that others put upon you.

All in all, I think it's a conspiracy by society to keep people from becoming great. Not really joking either, except it's not an intentional thing. But to see great people, makes the lesser people feel even less. So they need to find fault in them, to make themselves feel less small and insignificant.

I'd say it would be nice if we weren't so critical of the great people in our society, but it would be pointless -- cause it will not heppen -- and maybe counter productive.. because the right person excels under such criticism, making even great people greater.
