Who's the real ass? Bush vs. Obama

Is the Obama administration right in blaming Bush? Or has the excessive blaming of Bush 19 months into the Obama regime become overdrawn? With the economy now in Obama's government's hands, can he continue to blame his situation on others? Or is he himself at fault? Who will win the war of words? The conservatives or the liberals?

If the conservatives are in power, they blame the liberals for the current problems. If the liberals are in power, they blame the conservatives. It's why I can't stand politics... it feels like two catty cliques in high school are constantly trying to tear the other apart. The political system is to blame, and it's not going to change.

If he wants to blame his predecessor, he should quit doing everything that his predecessor had been doing prior to vacating the office.

Bush is worse but Obama hasn't made anywhere near the number of changes that need to be made and he hasn't changed a lot of things at all.

Liberals as in "the professional left" that Gibbs lashes out against?

The notion that "liberals" and "conservatives" are mirror images is rather absurd. About a year into the Obama administration, Olbermann talked about a left primary challenge to the President. Can you name a prime-time, opinion-driven Fox anchor who'd say that about Bush a year into his Presidency?

They're both two sides of the same coin.

The neocons and whatever you call the establishment of the democratic party are essentially identical.

Bush (and his puppetmaster, Cheney) were far worse.

Bush was more fiscally responsible than Obama, had better economic policies, and actually had some grasp of national security matters. Even Mikhail Gorbachev has warned Obama that his socialist economic policies won't work but he won't listen. Bush also surrounded himself with people with real world experience who knew how to get things done. Bush also did a lot of things I didn't like and I had a very lukewarm opinion of his administration by the time he left office, but I would gladly have Bush back for another 8 years if I could be rid of Obama.

That's a load of horse s**t. Bush passed the largest prescription drug bill in the country's history that would cover the largest influx of soon-to-be qualified seniors (the baby boomers). He also threw a whole ton of money down the drain in Iraq for absolutely no good reason as far as international policy or international law is concerned. It's a war that we're still paying for now.

It is now Obama's watch. He must take responsibility for all the happens now.

It turns out that he is any empty suit. Most likely a one term empty suit.

Agreed. Although I don't appreciate Obama *continuing* to throw money down the drain, to call Bush fiscally responsible is just BS. Neither administration has been fiscally responsible...they BOTH fail in that regard, and at least Obama isn't trying to impose the American Taliban by pandering to the Religious Right (can you tell I am a bit libertarian leaning (small "l" libertarian).

in the democratic party that i belong to, damned straight i prefer ideological purity pointing LEFT! i want democrats to act like god-damned democrats and not pale imitations of republicans, IOW i hate DINOs. what in the hell is the use of a party if it is simply going to copy what the other party is doing? paraphrasing harry truman, the american voter, when given a choice of a real republican or a democrat merely acting like a republican, will choose the former every time. when the demos wrung their hands and cowered during the health care debate, it made me cringe. i VOTED for them to do what they ended up being too chicken to do, and THIS is the real reason they are going to be clobbered this fall. i hope to hell you're satisfied. i wish WP could be divided into republican and non-republican halves, never the twain to meet

The vitality of the system depends on the parts meeting by interacting in creative and dynamic ways. The Left Democrats can't even run a hotdog stand profitably but they might have some useful views on dealing with certain cultural problems in our society.
