More fuel for the partisan fires.

I knew the charged rhetoric from all the anti-immigration people was gonna inspire someone to snap. I find it odd, the media didn't cover this. I think its just a general attitude that's making people go off the rails.

I suppose it is times like these that make cruel and unusual punishment appealing.

BUT immigrants are like evil, they come to our country to do the crappy jobs no one wants to do and they charge a misery for it, that's evil.

Try this commentary, written 2 weeks after the murders. Not by somebody suddenly sitting up and noticing, 2 years later.

Sometimes low-life filth is just low-life filth. Nobody snapped and there was no "trigger". Simply cold-blooded robbery, and murder as a way to cover their tracks.

I know, that. What I find despicable is people in the media and people on this forum trying to smear people calling them accessories to murder which is a load of bull. Sad part is I don't even think they realize it is a bunch of bull.

I never called anyone an accessory to murder, but when there's all this anger in the immigration debate from right wing talk radio, where people are characterizing illegal immigrants on this huge drain on the system, calling their kids anchor babies, acting like they're one of the sole causes of the economic crisis, I can see why some psycho would snap.

The same thing goes for the first Tuscon shooter. The guy was obviously deranged and has no real ideological view point. He was ultimately a paranoid conspiracy theorist, but I understood the reaction. They were calling Obama a communist, Nazi, secret muslim, etc etc. They said that they wanted to set up death panels to exterminate old people. I can understand why someone would think the shooting of a democrat might have been related to all that rhetoric that demonized the Democratic party as being the seat of the anti-christ. Its not 100% political manipulation on their part.

You are being appallingly disingenuous. The label, "Low-life filth," does not neutralize Forde's well documented political beliefs. A robbery and murder undertaken to secure resources for a politically motivated organization cannot so easily be dissociated from that political motivation.

Had the IRA done this to a protestant family in Ulster, it would be terrorism. Had the LTTE done this to a Sinhalese family in Sri Lanka, it would be terrorism. Had Hamas done this to a Jewish family in Israel, it would be terrorism. Yet here, "low-life filth is just low life filth."

My point was that those people were not mentally ill. They knew precisely what they were doing (and one of them had murdered before), which doesn't exactly excuse anything. Revile them and their politics all you like.
