Well, I don't think even the left leaning folks here would disagree with Rand on this. I find it interesting that you like Rand Paul but dislike his father for some reason. Ron actually wants to impeach Obama for this new blatantly illegal war.

Rand actually had a bit of a back and forth with Senator Durbin after that

Rand has one of the highest truth-a-meter scores on politi-facts 5 true to 2 false (both about teacher salaries wierd)
Glenn Beck on the other hand has 9 true to 42 false.
so obviously the site has a libertarian kentucky doctor bias
rather than a pull stuff out of ones own buttocks one.

for those playing Obama is about 50 50 same as John Boener

By the way, Rand Paul is a racist homophobe.

(just thought that we should get that out of the way early. Please carry on the conversation).

Once more, I'm utterly ashamed of my state.

We should change the party names to the "Dishonest Idiot Party" and the "People's Intelligent Integrity Party" just for more clarity.
You know, since everything is completely black and white.

You live in Kentucky? Why should you be ashamed of the fact that your senator is correct? The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, not Barack Obama's whims.

You know, it might just be me, but I really don't think a sample size of 7 claims is sufficient.

you are right. Rand (after ayn? ) Paul will soon catch up.
There are also huge problems with sample selection.
(only novel conterversial statement are likely to be checked)
so I give it interesting for conversation / not a ready for peer review rating.
I just noticed Paul because he came up three times in the completly true category.

Now that I've listened to part of his speech: yes, Rand Paul is indeed a flaming liberal.

Did you guys actually watch the video or do you support neocon foreign policy that president Obama now endorses?

And no, Rand is not named after Ayn Rand. His name is Randal and he went by Randy until like college.

While some were a little worried about the younger Paul before he got to Washington, he has since proven to be the "real deal" like his father. He is the future of our movement.

In what circumstances would you intervene in the affairs of another country Jacoby? Take Egypt for example. Wouldn't it right for people to show solidarity with that movement? Especially after they have showed solidarity with striking workers in Wisconsin! Or do you support non-intervention in all cases?

Paul's argument against the no fly zone appear to be :

a. It costs money

b. It is not in our "national interest" to do so

Neither of those are left wing arguments against intervention.

Well you can show solidarity with whoever you want but the problem arises once you start interfering militarily or otherwise. So yes, I support non-intervention in pretty much all cases. These almost always open up a can of worms you want no part of just as it did in the 80s in Afghanistan. The so called "freedom fighters" turned into Al Qaeda and the Taliban and turned Afghanistan into a more brutal dictatorship than the Soviets ever would of and we know the rest of the story. There are examples of this throughout the 20th century. Mubarak is a good example of why we shouldn't interfere with the domestic affairs of other countries, the guy was our client dictator and we have them all over the middle east. The reason the Iranians, who are by all measures some of the most modern and liberal of any Muslim country, are the way they are is because of our support of the oppressive dictatorship of the Shah. The best way to lead is by example.
