The problem with "trickle down" economics is that if you give corporations/wealthy entities the ability to save money in lower taxes and fewer regulations, it must be coupled with a requirement that it only applies to companies that invest in American jobs and infrastructure.

Example....

Company gets a tax break on goods made physically in the USA but not on goods made outside the USA. Tax breaks on goods made in the USA but significant taxes imposed on profits from goods made outside the USA and imported into the USA for sale.

This means they get the break only if they pass the benefit on down the line but not if they don't.

Leave it one sided and they'll take the benefit and still ship stuff where it's cheaper to get it done.

 The idea of 'stimulating' economy with low interest / tax fails because there is nothing worthwhile in the US for investment. Perhaps if we allow the fund managers to have huge sums of bonus they may spend some of them in the US and 'tickle down' to the poor.

I think that Conservatives stopped using the specific term "Trickle Down Theory" after President Ford, because it sounded too demeaning. Even the clowns on Fox News don't use the term. You don't even hear the words "Supply Side Economics" very often any more, nor much about the Laugher Curve.

The problem with trickle-down economics is 30 years of evidence that it does not actually happen that way in reality.

but they still keep on espousing the same theory. They're still claiming that tax breaks for the wealthy will grow jobs.

They surely will. In those parts of the world where labor is cheap.

Because the exchange rate for American currency is overinflated. That and most middle and upper-middle class Americans are overcompensated compared to other places in the world.

Bright lad! American labor is grossly overpaid relative to its productivity.

Thats because of a blockage called corporate greed. The only trickle down to the working poor in this country since the reforms of '84 [our own cultural revolution led by our own gang of four] has smelt suspiciously like urine.

Perish the thought! I have been assured that the wealthy are annointed by God to carry the burden of good fortune and provide for us out of the goodness of their hearts!

Adam Smith actually had similar convictions and may well have embraced such actions to a limited extent - or not.

Yeah what we have going on is the opposite of the trickle down theory, yet most people still cannot see that the very few are sucking the majority dry so to speak.

I'm talking about mid-level executives and some professions like doctors and lawyers, not blue collar workers and people on minimum wage. The latter are being bled dry.

Simple reality. American workers can't survive on a 3rd world economy's budget. We likewise can't compete.

I don't know if your post was meant to be humor or not, but if not, the problem is that we have much policy that encourages companies using foreign labor to sell things in America for a cheaper price, but at an insanely higher profit for the stockholders.

Trade tariffs existed to level the playing field. Nations have varied standards of living. Letting someone who can pay slave wages compete "equally" (sic) with domestic producers who must pay significantly higher wages and benefits is simply giving the benefit to the foreign competition.

The WTO and WTF are nothing but a scam to kill first world manufacturing and economies by letting the companies go wherever labor is cheapest and import without tariffs that maintain economic balance within a given trade nation.
