I just wanted to throw this out there because a lot of times when I get into conversations on issues or debates it feels - at least from some of the reactions - like I'm debating from inside a squad car, or at least that there's plenty of reason to believe that I am.

Truth be told lots of people have been cycled through moderating positions, when internal politics shift and general house-cleanings are done you still don't lose the green tag. That said it could be that people see me as relatively fair minded (I try to be although I admit, I still have my share of knee-jerk posts), but I wanted to clarify that if we're in a conversation or debate and you want to get into detail on our positions and where they differ the odds of getting batoned and handcuffed are nil. I didn't play it like that as a mod, wouldn't do it now either.

I, for one, hope that i have never shown your words more deference than i show to any other WPer.
