It goes to show that the voice of reason isn't always the AFLAK duck in the room. I'm aware of what he and AIFD (American Islamic Forum for Democracy) have been doing for the cause of contributing to both fighting for the deradicalization of Islam and for separation of church and state as well as fighting a lot of efforts that organizations like CAIR have made to stifle candid conversation on the issues, however I hadn't really followed much of what AIFD has been doing lately.

This interview does at least broach some neat specifics, as well as a Michigan arbitration law intended to keep proceedings within the US court systems rather than arbitrations that can essentially set up pockets of full Sharia law. It also touches on culture - what he sees at his level that American Muslims wish could be said more often. The only thing it doesn't do is delve into the bullet points of what his plan of attack on the bigger issue are but apparently he had a speech to deliver that night (last Monday) which probably did go into greater detail.
