No.... most people who don't believe in it, also believe that some evidence supports a disbelief in free will. So, they follow what they perceive to be evidence.

Could you expand, please ? I do not understand what ṭha_ṭha, or the emoticon it represents, has to do with free will.

Anyways, I personally do not care about free will in metaphysical terms for the same reason I do not care about what happens to me after I die or how the universe formed: In my opinion, ethics, social philosophy and dealing with what is known from empirical evidence are far more important. I think that people become obsessed with death and attached to origins of everything to the extent that they cannot improve their life, enjoy the good of reality and fight ills in this world.

Perhaps these quotes from Confucius, who has greatly influenced me, more than any other philosopher, could help show what I mean:

"One who does not progress every day, every day back"

"The wise do not grieve that men do not know him; he grieves that he is not known by men"

"How can we understand life without understanding death?"
