Cult of ignorance: Knowledge is poor decision making?
On Monday, Herman Cain said the following in Wisconsin:
"I want to talk to commanders on the ground. Because you run for president (people say) you need to have the answer. No, you don't! No, you don't! That's not good decision-making," said Cain.
You can read the rest here: Cain Took Campaign On Wild Ride Through Wisconsin
So now we have a candidate for presidential nomination who believes it is wise to be ignorant.

I do not think that Cain is trying to win.
You don't like Mitt? cuz he is most likely the candidate that can beat the dread pirate Obama.
(actually Huntsman is but lets not be silly)

Why not have Mr. T and George Foreman fight Obama?

Cain is just interviewing for his next job. The number of people who think that job could be in the whitehouse is dwindling, but the interview process he's in requires him to keep trying until the primaries.
I'd like to know where the mainstream republicans are - if so far all we have is crazies and RINOs, especially mormons who are secret socialists.

Excuse me, who the heck is supposed to be a mormon that's secretly a socialist? You?

What I'm wondering more about is whether he's referring to candidates or members here. If he's referring to candidates, probably all of them are crazy RINOs whether they campaign as this, that, or whatever else. If he's trying to refer to members here though, that is against the rules of this site. If he were referring to himself, then it's his own business, but to any other member - that is not right.

I was referring to Faithful Mormons in general, myself having been one, and still living right in the thick of them.
I am sure there are "mormon" capitalists who disagree with the doctrine, I'm just pretty sure they can't enter the temple without lying.

Really? How bizarre that must be.

It should be clarified that there are a number of different types of mormon meeting houses.
There are chapels - one to several wards meet in a chapel. There are probably a dozen within a mile of my house. Some of these chapels are quite large and have extensive facilities for things like full-court basketball, and these are referred to as stake centers. Many chapels and all stake centers have baptismal fonts - which is like a giant bathtub with a mirror over it, in which people are baptized by immersion in front of several witnesses.
Then there are really large meeting houses, referred to as, well, meeting houses, unless they are really nice, in which case they are tabernacles. These are increasingly analogous to epistobapterian mega-churches except that they lack facilities like classrooms for sunday school or full-court basketball. They generally do not have a baptismal font.
All of the above facilities are open to all - members and non-members. Though it is polite to dress appropriately for church, and one should really ask before attending a baptism uninvited -- though you are virtually assured to be allowed to watch, if you dress appropriately and show proper respect.
And then there are several temples. In areas densely populated with mormons they are densely available, but in some parts of the country you might have to drive (or fly, or boat) for hours to get to one.
Entering the temple requires a temple recommend, which is only available to members in good standing who answer some standard questions correctly in an interview with their bishop.
Temples exist to provide venue and facilities for the most sacred of mormon rituals and ordinances. While i have seen the inside of a temple (prior to it's dedication) i have never held a temple recommend card or witnessed said rituals and ordinances because i declined the interview. I knew that i lacked appropriate faith and respected my parents and neighbors too much to simply lie.
I have no 2nd hand knowledge of these rituals and ordinances because faithful mormons are forbidden from discussing them outside of the temple walls, and i respect the faithful too much to pry. I am quite certain that google could fill me in on the details within minutes, but this would be an insult to my family and neighbors, so i decline to do it.
But i have been told that all you have to do to get into the temple as a sinner is to lie twice.
These types of statements from Cain make me believe he is trolling America for the lulz. If this is the case I want to be best friends with him because I can see a rad bromance forming

Cain has already suggested whom his VP would be, and that would be Newt Gingrich, whom has foreign policy experience.

What Vexcalibur said.
That, and I expect my president to learn foreign affairs, if he doesn't know about it already, instead of just deferring to a VP who's more interested in trying out blow jobs from candidates for his next wife.
