When I was about 5 I went through a sort of religious indoctrination phase while sick while flu and pneumonia. While laid down, my parents read me Bible stories from a Jehovah's Witness Bible story book (we weren't even JWs
)
I'll tell you what, those stories are not a good thing to read to a kid while they are sick with fever and doped up out of their minds, but anyways.
I was being read some of the stories, but I was more interested in the pictures. One of the pictures show Jesus and I was looking at his sandals. I said, "Hey mom, Jesus is wearing flip-flops like you are!"
My mom was wearing flip-flops. I'm not sure how we transitioned into it, but she started singing with me the song Ham and Eggs. When we got to the "flip-flop flip-flop" part, I thought about Jesus's and my mom's flip-flops. But then I started thinking about pancakes being flipped and flip-flops. Maybe I wanted some pancakes? But the image of Jesus and pancakes never left me.
Oh the things you can think.
