I like how our perspectives are held much higher than actual reality.

all we ever have is a small subset of the Real Thing.

The good news is that if we work hard and true we will find out more and more of the Real Thing even if we never get it all.

Or less, depending on what one defines as the "Real thing".

By using perspective as your reference point you automatically take the position of thought/words against the actuality of action which is, in fact, the real world. So of course I think I can lift 200 pounds when in fact when I try I can only lift 100 pounds. What I mean to say that until I actually try to or do something I can believe anything until the reality of following through proves otherwise.

I think this is really more reflective of wishful thinkers. I would say both shared and unshared are a part of actual reality. And perspective can still lie outside reality. I wonder sometimes if the outlying perspective isn't just a misunderstanding, what we wish the world would be, or just plain fooling ourselves.

I agree to a point. But I am into the idea that our own consciousness plays an important part in what is real.

It's not like our perspective comes from absolutely nothing.

If it were complete separate from reality, that's like saying we live in the Matrix.

True. But neither are we able to totally trust our own perspective. If I look down a long stretch of highway on a clear day, it might appear that the road is flooded with water. Another observer standing at the apparently flooded section I'm looking at would just see plain, dry road. And as I approach the mirage, the water seems to magically vanish before my eyes.

Just because my eyes are misled to believe that the road is under water doesn't make it so. Nor does believing with all my heart and mind make the water real.

Likewise, when confronted with truth that makes you uncomfortable, ignoring the elephant in the room doesn't make it go away. How something appears to one person depends on that person's point of view. Varying points of view cannot change reality. Changing perspectives and sharing wisdom only deepen perception of what it is.

You see something because something is there. It is not there only because you want to see it a certain way.

This Venn diagram is very funny. But I would like to be a little serious about what it implies. I agree that no one has a perfectly accurate and complete understanding of reality. When 2 people differ about the nature of reality, one should not assume that they are both equally wrong about it. The truth is not necessarily halfway between the 2 points of view. So one of the two top circles should be at least a little closer to the bottom circle than the other top circle would be.

I think this diagram is in my eyes largely right. But there is a small logical problem.
If this diagram is your perspective than it must be wrong, because this diagram sais that everything in your perspective is wrong.
I think we don't know if some parts of our perspective are right or wrong (of course large parts must be wrong but why should be everything definitly wrong?).
