Leonard Cohen has been a Buddhist for awhile and I think he was even a Monk for a retreat.I think the article was in Shambala Sun magazine.He wanted to be a country musician when he first started.I wish I had every recording he ever did,he is my favorite.

We have a phrase for Jewish Buddhists (the two modes are not incompatible). We call them Boo Joos. A good natured pun, not an insult. Buddhists, contrary to popular belief are very well tuned into the real world.

Have you read the works of Kahlil Gibran? My two favorites are "The Prophet" and "Jesus". Some rank his poetry along with William Shakespeare and Lao-Tzu.

I'll have to read some more of Mr. Cohen's poetry, but it looks like there may be a fourth person to add to the list.

I have a copy of the Prophet,and I also enjoy Khayyam's Rubaiyat.
I'll have to check out Jesus,I haven't read that.

If you can find the book, Leonard Cohen A Life In Art by Ira Nadel ,it's a good read.
It's published in '95 and has some nice photos.I loaned it out once,they had it a year.I retrieved it from their bookcase.I think they had no intention of giving it back.It's amazing how many people will steal a book.
