DALLAS - A neighbor was arrested in the shooting deaths of a couple Monday morning at an apartment complex in Northeast Dallas.

Police were called to the scene in the 6100 block of Abrams Road just after 8 a.m. at the Sable Ridge Apartments near East Northwest Highway.

Yolanda Washington, a neighbor, said the alleged shooter argued with the female victim in the past over "dog poop and her children making noise." Washington said the female victim and her boyfriend, who was the second victim, lived in an upstairs unit above the man arrested .

The female victim, whose identity has not been released, was a mother of five children, including one infant.

Gun control is insanity. It is like taking away my car because somebody else killed somebody with theirs.

You're condoning the murderer here. Killed over normal day-to-day life. That's all it took. Just for living with children and a pet. What kind of a society is that?

Well, I don't think anything could have made it tolerable in this case; homicidal maniac killed two people over literally nothing. He's now in jail for the rest of his life. What a useless event.

Back, say 70 years ago, if a dog kept on escaping and running amok in someone else's yard, they'd probably shoot said dog; shoot, shovel, and shut up, and all that -- still happens in rural areas too nowadays. That's what good fences and making sure your animal doesn't get off are for (a few times can be tolerable, but time after time can wear people down...). Not something I'd ever do, but I can somewhat see where they're coming from (especially with dead livestock in the mix).
