I am an Agnostic, I will make that clear before I start. Whether God exists or not... who knows. However this is not a question about whether God exists or not, it's about the 10 commandments, a law that Christians strive to follow. Specifically relating to the law "You shall not make for yourself an idol".

Imagine the following situation. There is a father of three people, his name will be Jack. This father has three children, two boys and one girl. One boy is called Max, the other boy is called Peter and the girl is called Amy. Amy and Peter worship Max as if Max is their father, Amy and Peter do not worship Jack their real biological father. Amy and Peter are worshiping their brother.

Now replace the word Jack with "God", the word Max with "Jesus". Amy and Peter represent everyone else on this planet. Every Christian is a human. Jesus is a human. Therefore Every Christian worships but one human that existed over 2000 years ago. Jesus is a son of God, just like the rest of us are sons and daughters of God. So why aren't Christians worshiping God instead of Jesus.

It is in my opinion that Jesus said "I am A son of God" and that Christians said "Jesus is THE son of God" ("A" meaning one of many and "THE" meaning the only).

Jesus is the "Son of God".

How can you be the son of God and God? That essentially makes you the son of yourself. How do you give birth to yourself?

This is a bit tricky.

In certain Christian denominations (e.g. Catholicism), Jesus is a separate entity and not quite the same as God. The Holy Trinity is God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost.

In other Christian denominations, Jesus is considered an extension of God, and is therefore also God. This is the interpretation that does not conflict with your assessment.

Catholics cover this arguement by saying that the trinity is unexplainable, when it is essentially bull crap.

"the mystery of faith"

Sorry, I had to laugh when I saw your post, it was funny to me  by the way I'm baptized Catholic and know a lot about the denomination, but I'm a nonbeliever so I don't take any offense.

That fact is even stated in the Christmas Song, 'Silent Night'.
