It's funny in the 90's even with my limited economic understanding I knew Germany would come good (big fan of the Germans to yah Aldi ! despite what the dumb ideologues on both sides of the Atlantic where saying ie stop producing #$^ and turn Fritz the engineer in to a Timmy the Tesco shelf stacker who would go on to buy buy homes like credit cards also they condescendingly told Fritz he should end that "socialist" nonsense ,thankfully Fritz said "nein" to that and continued to export away
who's economy is doing better these days .
France I'm not so sure , they had their "30 glorious years" yet in the last few decades the unemploment rate in "good" years would have a 7 in it in "bad " years" a 9 (don't you just love those economic stablilsiers ) I wonder can they ever get it down and keep it down it doesn't have to be "full "employment say less than 5 % but say around 6-7 % (still pretty good in my books) It has so many great things going for it for a dev economy eg it still produces lots of high value tec heavy $%^&& ( something aussies know nothing about
/ my French /Swiss uncle asked me once me what do Australians produce I "joked" they make air, polluted air in fact from all that coal dust
) to the fastest growing regions in the world eg trains , nuclear , weaponry etc . It also still has some impressive figures eg gdp per capita I remember in the cool Britannia 90's days
the little emperor Blaire got on his podium and gloated to the world the that UK economy was now larger than Frances , if it's the communist hell hole that Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear fame claims it to be why the comparisons ? (similar population) , anyawyas the reverse is true these days particular with the fall in the atlantic peso (pound)
So will it come good ?
