Why not Me?

Now some would call that unrealistic, but no matter who is in the physical office, those of us with vision can still run for it. Is it not a Free Country?

I tried watching The Pelican Brief (on Bounce) the other night...found a disturbing comment in the first scene - something along the lines of it being amazing what a man will do to get into the oval office. My gut reaction was "power hunger", which of course we can only recognize if it exists somewhere in our own self. With that in mind, and judging my own reasoning behind that desire, I simply want to help because I can see the problems in their finest detail and I know how to correct them with the help of an entire nation who regards its neighbours as equals in existential value.

However, the *vibe* I got from that cinematic commentary suggested far too much appetite for personal gain at the expense of others. I do not feel this way. So then 'why' do we desire gain in the first place, since success is in fact a good thing? It seems to me that desire is due to having been made to feel like a failure in the past - with such perceived failings adding up to one collossal need for existential validation of one's true Self.

Without getting too philosophical on you,, it seems to me that if more folks - especially children - were given the opportunity to have a 'say' in EVERYTHING, the political divisiveness that plagues our 'parents' will become more unified without causing many to feel defeated in the choices they make along their life Journey.

And on that note I say Don't Stop Believin'! If you don't like who is in office now, Quit complaining and go help someone pro bono.

If you can't do that, you have no business in the Presidency.

I hope it's someone who would run even if they were going to be the twelfth female President.

Only on the Bizzaro planet, my friend.
I myself went with Clinton. I think Elizabeth Warren would make an excellent president, but her credibility had been hurt when the Republicans had called her honesty into question regarding her Native American ancestry - which the media seems to have accepted without much question.

It doesn't matter. Presidents are selected, not elected. Whoever "Gepetto" wants to be president, that's who it will be.
This is just my opinion, I do not wish to engage in a "conspiracy theory" discussion.

Hillary has the best chance, unfortunately. Still, she managed to blow it against Obama, so there's hope for us yet.

To be honest, I don't see a female president anytime soon. When it does happen, I have a sneaking suspicion it may be a reality TV star with boatloads of cash and a fantastic PR crew.

I don't see Hilary winning, as she is not the greatest when it comes to debates. Plus all that (mostly speculative and distortion) Benghazi hoopla will come back to haunt her. Not to mention some of Bill's mistakes will help the Republicans run some serious smear campaigns.

On that list, I think that Elizabeth Warren would probably do the best job, but that isn't saying much. Plus I don't think she would get nearly enough financial backing.

I think Melinda Gates could probably get into the Oval Office with her bottomless money well and all the good publicity the Gates Foundation has garnered over the years, but it seems unlikely that she would even consider a run.

Are those wenches really the best that the Repugs have?

There is that chick who is the governor of South Carolina. She is considerably less revolting than those 2.

I hope not. Bachmann is a crazy lady. Palin is intelligent enough, but she has had too much bad press from the Pinko Stink America Hating Commie Loving Liberal Press.

I think Palin's big problem is that her staffers don't seem to do any research or brief her before she goes out to talk about anything. That, plus she doesn't seem to have much of an individual platform, just a rigid adoption of others.

I do think Bachmann is just completely out in space. It's almost as if she's had serious frontal lobe damage at some point.
