The meth business looked like more fun and adventure than teaching high school chemistry.
With that said, the American greed based healthcare system wins.

Neither I nor anyone else here has ever said that I'm nice or upstanding.

It wasn't really about the money though, if it had been, there really wouldn't have been much story. (I know, it's a joke and I'm being a pain, but still.)

I don't watch Breaking Bad.

How is the plot (chem teacher starts making/selling meth) tied to the US healthcare system?

You forgot the panel where he finds out that NICE have decided the cost-benefit ratio of funding his treatment is too high.

For those that watched the show, they would know that it was never really about paying for his cancer treatments or even providing for his family. Given Walter White's aversion to pretty much any form of charity going his way I find it unlikely that he'd accept government assistance.

It was all about the chemistry.
Which just leads to a downward spiral of bad things.

We should be grateful that BB wasn't set in the UK. One of the best things on TV in recent memory.

The only decent telly we seem consistently capable of making as a nation are nature documentaries. There aren't a great many shoot-outs, thankfully.

Treatment options are mostly irrelevant when it comes to lung cancer. For most people, it is a death sentence within 5 years.

Lung. Cancer. Kills.
