What game are we all stuck in?
So, today being International Womens Day, I took to wondering why is it that women have been oppressed throughout the known history and did some research to check out the earliest known religious myths.

so, we start with over five thousand years of slavery for the humans;
Then we look into Enki, who likes his drink and one day a female god steals the rule of the universe from him:

Then there is Marduk, who is called upon to fight an army of demons led by the goddess Tiamat who he defeats and becomes the supreme god http://www.mesopotamia.co.uk/gods/explore/exp_set.html
Interestingly, Tiamat is shown as a snake http://www.mesopotamia.co.uk/gods/explore/exp_set.html and from her dead eyes the rivers of Tigris and Euphrates flow - the rivers, incidentally that give fertility to the region and rise to agriculture.
so all that is happening only a few thousand years ago, while the 'human' evolution is several million years in the making. (http://humanorigins.si.edu/evidence/hum ... nteractive)
Still, it is worth noting that going back 7 thousand years and looking at early Mesopotamian myths, we seem to see the same social dynamics at play as we see in our modern day world, except that back then, the Bond villains were female goddesses.
And then the ancient Egypt with it's obsession with life after death turns up (www.timemaps.com/history) and in various forms in exists to this day (hello Heaven and Hell).
So, anyone have any idea what game we've been stuck in for the past 7+ thousand years?
