They aren't Palestinians. They're English.

Also: they are ignorant of history as well as being bigoted.

On my phone - I am in NI! - so can't respond properly.

I get ratty when not asked.

I am not in your neck of the woods for a change. Though I did pass through Moira and Waringstown last Friday.

I am in Coleraine.

Typical disinformation.

The "Palestinians" were named after the area named by the Ottoman Empire. Jews living there were also called "Palestinians"...as was anyone else living there.

There was no "Palestine" for a very long time...if ever. Certainly not recent enough to establish any lawful claim to territory.

By starting a war with Israel, they forfeited any land they lost in the effort to exterminate a neighboring country.

After this assessment i don't think you bothered listening to the video. It establishes that the area between the meditteranean sea and Syria-Jordan was called Palestine since the times of christ.

Even with the issue of the name aside, the fact remains they were a homogenous cultural unit, with lineage stretching at least generations and all of the infrastructure necessary for a country, bar a state, was already in place when the first zionists arrived.

If Palestine did not exist, why does it give on Ariel Sharon's birth certificate his place of birth as 'Palestine'?

False. If you watch the second half of the video, it states with incontrovertible proof, that it was Israel that announced hostilities against Egypt before any arab state started attacking Israel.

I don't think the Israeli government has ever stated otherwise. They usually frame it in "the best defense is a good offense" terms, though.

I am vehemently opposed to the rocket attacks and suicide bombers from Hamas and Hezbolloh, but I definitely understand the why. It must really suck to be pulled in to peace talk after peace talk where the US starts by pushing a huge pile of cash and arms across the table to Israel.

also being told to ignore the fact that israel has committed multiple genocides against your people and forced them into the worlds largest open air prison where they are constantly testing weapons on your neighbors all while they paint you as the bad guys

and you wonder why they would want to build rockets to retaliate

Israel's current onslaught against the innocents of Gaza is doing nothing to win it supporters. The anti israeli sentiment in the air is now palpable.

Even my wife, who was previously non sided on the issue is seething with anger at Israel after seeing a picture of a Palestinian father cradling his toddler whose skull was emptied like an egg from an Israeli attack.

Hamas, not Israel, started this latest round of attacks when they fired their rockets into Israel. Therefore, they're the ones to blame, in my opinion.

I don't know. It is hard to say who started what. Depends how far back you go.

This latest round of rocket attacks are in retaliation to Israeli raids which resulted in over 400 arrests (some of whom were vocal critics of inequalities between Israeli and Arab citizens), as well as destruction and seizure of porperty. Which was a retaliation for the three Israeli teens. Which were a retaliation for further water restrictions. Which was a retaliation for obstruction of Israeli settlement construction. Which was a retaliation for the latest round of property seizures to build Israeli settlements. Etc., etc.
