Ok. Cenk thinks that Isis intends to invade Saudi Arabia. This would cause the American's to rush to their defence, at which point Isis will use the U.S occupation of Mecca to rally muslims to their cause.
He goes onto suggest that one way to prevent this would be for the U.S to embark on a massive aid program to try to shift middle eastern public opinion away from ISIS
That's beyond stupid, how many billions have we already given the middle east? We rebuilt Iraq and it's military, it crumbled in days against ISIS. We saved Saudi Arabia from Saddam already and that actually pissed these people off more. They don't want our help, they don't want us there.
It is time we allow these imaginary lines in the sand drawn by the French and British to vanish, we can't take sides in a sectarian war. The people that support ISIS support them because they're against us, you're not going to win them over by building a school or bridge. The only way they can be stopped if the Arabs decide they want to stop them and the best way to do that is to disengage from Middle Eastern affairs. It's going to be ugly and a lot of people will die, it is unavoidable. The best the US can hope for is to contain it and keep it out our countries.
Unfortunately, I think we'll play right into their hands and give them even more of a propaganda coup when we go after them.
