Look at the questions below:

http://www.autism-in-the-christian-home ... ctive.html

Quote:
However, children with autism are usually focused on themselves. But, does this nature mean that they are poor Christians?

Not necessarily!

Being self-centered is typical for folks with Asperger’s syndrome or other high functioning autism whether they are kids, teens or adults. I do not believe that this nature can be totally changed.

There is a billion things wrong with this statement.

I surely dont hope that this is the overall perception from Christians of autism. I just hate that its sites like this that are planting these perspectives of autism into peoples brains.

HAHAHAHA this is the first line I read, what a bunch of F-wits. Most so called christians I come into contact with are appalling christians who would not have the faintest idea of what should be required of a person to label themselves such.

Thanks for the site it will be a hoot reading it

Seems like a standard NT trying to understand something that is strange to them. Religion is often the method of choice. The views on this site don't strike me as something that will do harm to autistic children, so I can't really say I disapprove.

A "poor Christian" is one who considers his/her child's disability a moral failing.

Many Christians who have kids with ASDs
see autism as a sign of "sinful behavior."

Give us a break!

I believe it was Lorna Wing who did a literature search and found that it is possible a child with autism was mentioned in a story about Martin Luther. At the end he said the child was possessed and told his colleague to drown it.

Anyway, I stopped at 'Spiritual Warfare' and could not read anymore. WTF? Any site that still mentions possessed children should be shunned.

As I recall, the local prince had forbidden the child be harmed.

In defense of the author of the site, they didn't actually say that an autistic child is possessed. Only that others may think that.

The site actually wasn't that bad. Not nearly as bad as some of those anti-vax wackos' sites.

If you would have read that part of the website, it never says that autism is the result of demonic possession. Their link on causes is not unusual for any site.

Not really, about the only things questionable is their claims about growing new brain cells and developing new neural pathways, and always using spanking. The first claim is not firmly established, and spanking does not work on all autistic kids even if they understand what they are doing is wrong.

Why? Why? Why?.....are christians all grouped together.

I'd like to separate mormons from otter christians because I think if a LDS member were to try and write about autism, they'd be less rude.

The person whom wrote the article seems to be trying to debunk some arguments people have, and trying to promote an understanding for parents of kids on the spectrum.

However, it is much more likely that autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder.

Your child does not feel good and is easily frustrated due underlying causes of autism. He is just responding to his environment in the only way he that he knows how.

First came the original sin
One of it consequences: Autism.

It's a chain cause that autism exists because some guy ate a fruit that was forbidden.

I don't know about wether parents were "sinful" or not, but it wouldn't be surprising that some think that way or that "it is a test".

And now and then people have to pay for that wether they were sinful or not, if they end up with autistic children or even children with cancer.

Don't look at me like that, I'm as much as a christian as most christians. ;)
