How can we survive so much political and economic turmoil?
I will try not to make this so political, but what are the chances people on both the left and right will survive our modern day political and economic turmoil? Or will we eventually commit suicide from it or die from it? How will I ever have a future to look forward to in such massive turmoil?
Hordes of horseman from the east killing everyone, only days away, a new wave of Black Death, and the new coin is mostly lead. The crops failed, there is nothing to eat for a year. The King died, his two sons are each raising armies to fight for the rule, we have all been drafted. For our belief in One God for all, the Church has been burning thousands at the stake. Norsemen have entered the rivers in their boats, lots of smoke is rising.
The Tavern is running out of beer.

IDK, but looking at the big picture human existence has persisted throughout many terrible things so it is likely humanity as a whole will continue past this turmoil....maybe the numbers will get thinned out some hard to say what exactly will happen in the future. All the turmoil and what not is bothering me too...trying not to let it get to me, but hard not to. I mean even in the city I live by there have been some recent police brutality incidents so there is even some of the turmoil pretty close to home.
I wonder if I or anyone I know really has a future, as for now we are just getting by the best we can and trying to enjoy a little of life and make ends meet. But we've even discussed sort of plans of action for if everything dissolves into chaos....to simplify we'll run to the hills. Really the wilderness in the mountains would likely be safer and more sustainable than any urban areas if that took place. Or if they try to implement martial law....yeah, outta here and its not just talk some of my group of friends/acquaintances/family actually have quite a lot of wilderness survival skills...and I am a pretty quick learner for stuff like that. Of course now its just hypothetical talk of course none of us are thinking of it in terms of 'this will happen' its just 'well if this does'.
I am quite afraid of what could be to come, even my therapist said things really are actually pretty tense and concern is reasonable because I asked her if it was just more my PTSD being triggered and distorted thoughts I was projecting onto the state of the world since sometimes I have that issue but she confirmed there is reason to be concerned. Seems plenty of people are afraid but no one wants to be the one to say that...that is why me and my friends just talk about what we might do if certain things come to pass and even try and think of it as a potential adventure...because what the hell else do you do when you feel everything you know could just collapse into violent chaos.

Relax. If this country could survive the Civil war 620,000 dead 1.5 million maimed out of a population of 32 million, it can survive anything short of an asteroid the like of which killed off the dinousaurs.

Yeah, I actually agree with you for once.
@ the OP,
From past threads, I know you're apprehensive about demographic changes happening in America. There are a lot of people who find the current changes happening in American threatening, but I think it's an overreaction.
If you get out and expose yourself to different people, you might find they aren't as different or as bad as you think...
except for TeaParty folks and libertarians, because they all suck.
