When a guy was asking him about Obama's "secret Muslim meetings" and how Obama was a Muslim and so he felt scared, Trump said, "I'll look into it." As a Muslim, I feel offended.

Donald Trump is a joke,. You shouldn't give anything he says another thought.

You probably know every year on September 11th, many of the 9/11 Muslim hijaking American planes, and killing Americans movies are replayed on tv. Recently, the popular movie "Zero Dark Thirty" showed "evil" Muslims killing Americans.

So, hate for Muslims stays fresh.

Trump wants votes, and supporting perceived villains would not be wise for a politician.

Kind of a non-comment.

It's the first amendment, what is Trump supposed to say, "stop talking you are offending Muslims and PC'ness outweighs your First Amendment right"? The liberal elite controlled media would be applauding him.

First-of-all, Donald Trump didn't say anything bad about Muslims (going-by your post). He said: "I'll look into it?" What's wrong with that?

Second-of-all, Trump, as every other American, has the Freedom of Speech to say whatever he / they want----except, of course, to shout "Fire" in a crowded theatre, when there isn't any.

Thirdly, PC is HORSE HOCKEY!!

Fourthly, being offended by something someone says, is ridiculous! How can something someone says, "make" or "break" someone else? Something someone says can't INvalidate another's being----NOR, can it validate another's being. It's the way one allows themselves to feel upon hearing the words, that is uplifting, or invalidating.

Trump is playing up to his base, which is increasingly racist and nativist. He is only looking at the short term, in how he hopes this will produce a wave that will land him in the White House, but seems totally oblivious to the long term damage he can do to our pluralistic society, which includes people of all nationalities, colors, and religions - - including Muslims.

So, your best defence of Trump's idiotic remarks is "it isn't illegal to say that"?

What's wrong with his comments? Obama clearly isn't a Muslim. Trump should neither a) give credence to these ridiculous views, or b) act as if there's anything wrong with being a Muslim. It's pretty ugly propaganda - imagine if the question was "I'm worried Obama might be a Jew". Now Trump isn't the one making the comments, but he should challenge people who say these sorts of things at his rallies, not say he'll "look into them".

Sure, Trump has every right to say what he does, but should he? Freedom of speech is always coupled with responsibility, as history has shown again and again how ugly words can turn into violent action.

This

I would say the same if he said stuff about Catholics, I literally don't care. Religion is open for criticism as it's a choice to believe, so have at it for all I care.

I don't. I don't think anything Trump says is relevant, and to be honest, I'd be happy if the success of his candidacy results in a move away from gotcha style gaffe hunting journalism, as it clearly doesn't work on him.

Replace 'Muslim' by 'Jew' or 'Catholic' in the exchange and maybe some will understand why it all sounds wrong.
