What do the Americans here think of the FCC indecency regulations, particularly the current status quo? I think we still need to draw a line in the sand between right and wrong. That being said though, the current regulations of broadcast content need cut and reformed. I guess that there were less regulations on broadcasting content in the 80s because culture was a lot more tame compared to today, but every once in a while things would pop up and they can get away with it because, paradoxically if they knew the boundaries and wouldn't break them, they were still allowed to do whatever they wanted.

The regulations haven't changed much in the last 40 years, just the pushing of the limits. There are actually two sets one for broadcast such as cable or over the air tv and premium such as HBO. Broadcast has been pushing the limits of what is allowed for the last 20 years or so but it is up to the FCC to do the enforcement, but that is one agency that has more to enforce than they have people to handle enforcement.
But this is just my $0.02.
