There are some occasions where it's not illegal to specify the sex of a job candidate. Primarily where the sex is integral to the position. For example, casting for a show of some time. There is a restaurant here called "Hooters" which only hired female servers (and good looking ones at that) which tried to claim the legal exception, however they kept getting sued and now hire male servers as well.
That reminds me of a joke that Nikki Payne once told!
"Who here likes to go to the Hooters? You know? The restaurant with the boobies? Well ... I'd like to start my own restaurant called The Ballsack Eatery."
