Let's say you are minding your own business and then you see one animal killing another. Do you have a moral obligation to intervene?

If animals have the same rights as people, doesn't this mean that all predators are serial killers? Don't we have a moral obligation to break up animal violence whenever we see it? Don't we have an obligation to enforce man-made law upon the natural world?

FACT: Many male ducks are rapists. Do we have a moral obligation to prevent sexual abuse between animals?

Humans generally understand that liberty comes with responsibility. That's one of the founding principles of democracy. If we give animals liberty, will they understand the responsibility which is tied to liberty?

I think most animal rights activists are concerned with how humans treat animals.

Factory farming is truly evil and literally tens of billions of animals are suffering because of it.

First off, the whole "all male ducks are rapists" needs to die. Duck mating has evolved to take the form of a pretty violent struggle combined with a weird two-way anatomical arms-race between the male's long corkscrew of a penis and the females labyrinthian cloaca. Not the same thing.

Second, if all animals are of equal worth, that needs must include things like insects and bacteria. What most people don't seem to understand is that herbivores like cows don't themselves digest plants, but keep a population of bacteria in their gut that do. When the bacteria multiply, a portion of them are consumed by the cow. Each cow is a biological factory farm.

and then there are these idiots...: https://www.treehugger.com/natural-sciences/meet-the-people-who-want-to-turn-predators-into-vegans.html

It’s never nice seeing animals hurt each other, but it’s more acceptable than what cruel humans do.

I have limited empathy for fully functioning humans. They’re the top of the food chain and the top of society. Other creatures need to be protected from them.

Just another lame article. You know what is the biggest threat to birds, habitat destruction? It's global warming....not cats. The cat thing is just something right wingers who apperently love bird but have a vendetta against any predator animal say, because cats are not the biggest danger to birds global warming is. So don't believe any asses who say it is nessisary to shoot any cat they see, those people are s**t.
