Trivium and Quadrivium

During the Middle Ages in parts of Europe, the education system consisted of such classical elements as

Trivium:

  1. Grammar
  2. Logic
  3. & Rhetoric

and the

Quadrivium:

  1. Arithmetic
  2. Geometry
  3. Astronomy
  4. & Music


It may not seem like much, but it is a far cry from no education.

However feeble, this brought back Greek teaching and set the stage for the renaissance.

It also promoted literacy, which is a necessary skill for any kind of intellectual advance.

Trivium and Quadrivium was a whole lot better than the crap I was force-fed by my school.....

R is the only letter they share.

i cant help but notice and find fun tho, swap the order

It's an Americanism - they used to be called "Readin', 'Ritin', and 'Rithmetic" back in the old days. Reason came along later.
