Very well could be, although it doesn't sound like they're 100% sure yet. Diprosopus and Sonic Hedgehog
Either way, I hope she grows into adulthood. Seeing her thought processes will be very interesting.

OMG what was that!

Devo! It's from their first record, Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo. "Every man, woman, and mutant shall know the truth about de-evolution!"

THAT ... IS ... FRAKKIN HILARIOUS!!

Anyone who doesn't believe in the de-evolution of the human race has obviously never watched Jerry Springer. Or any hip-hop video on BET. :eew:

The same could be said about you, SP.

Are you implying I think I'm a goddess?

I dunno. Some Aspies are sexually ambivalent.

You're copping out, slowmutant. "I dunno?" You said the same could be said of me.

Do you know me to make such an affirmation?

I think this kid is cool. Having two faces opens up all kinds of possibilities. You could talk and eat at the same time. You could take in oxygen a lot faster, giving you a physical edge. Not to mention having four eyes gives you some kind of super-vision.

I don't think there is independant control for both faces. it says inthe article that all four eyes close at the same time. I would imagine mouth control is also the same. I am very curious as to wether both mouths are connected to tehe throat in such a way that both could be used for eating or not. I certainly hope she survives to adult hood. which seems very likely to me. not that she should be used simply as an oddity to be studied but I'm sure quite a bit could be learned from her.

Given the severity of her deformity, the child is likely to die before reaching maturity. Which, of course, is tragic. Perhaps Nature is self-adjusting and not purely a victim of her own discrepancies. Who's to say a child like this should live? Sounds very harsh, I know, but it had to be said.

We will see if she lives or not. I'm assuming she will based on the fact that she seems to be thriving right now and all that with a minimum of medical attention. I have no idea if there will be complications down the road but barring that unless they are actively trying ot kill her I don't see why she shouldn't survive.

As far as the question of should she survive? I would say the answer to that question is yes. I consider all life ot be precious even if that person turns out to be abnormal in some way. who knows what her brain is like. it could be brilliant or it could be low functioning we simply can't tell yet.

Weighing your belief in the sanctity of life vs. your desire for others to be free of suffering, that can be difficult sometimes. I certainly don't wish this girl to die, but at the same time I would not want her to suffer on account of her condition. :?

Sorry to quote myself, but I think slowmutant may have missed my question.

I don't know you and I make no affirmations. Sexual ambivalence is common among people on the spectrum. That's all I was trying to say.
