I recently found out he did the voice of Galvatron in the Transformers movie, the one from 1986. This Galvatron:

He also played himself in two iconic Simpsons episodes, "Marge Vs. The Monorail" and "The Springfield Files". Both are classics, especially the former.

I know it wasn't his final appearance but I like to think of this as his final act as Spock.

I saw the TOS episodes when they first aired, although I don't really remember that. I do remember watching them again in syndication, then the animated series, then seeing most of the movies in the theater.

In the original pilot Spock grins and seems to have normal emotions; it's the female Number One who is portrayed as emotionless. I never would have identified with Spock if he were merely another crew member who just happened to have pointy ears.

Growing older means gradually losing all the adults I liked when I was young, both in real life and in the entertainment world. It's part of life, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it.

That was from "Patterns of Force" season two, episode 52 (aired Feb 16, 1968).

I did not expect his Passing to hit me so hard. His Cover of Joni Mitchells Both sides now has become bittersweet for me.

The album "The Way I Feel" on Dot, 1969.

I just happened to have researched his discography to do a salute to him on my little public access radio show.

His first two albums "Mr Spock Presents Music From Outer Space"('67), and "Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy" (68) both had him singing as Mr. Spock, and doing sci fi themed novelty songs. The later three albums he made on the Dot label were all straight covers of then popular pop, folk, and country hits (I Walk the Line, Both Sides Now, Abraham-Martin-and-John) with no tie in to Spock.

Havent actually heard any of those later serious non novelty tracks though. Nimoy singing 'Both Sides Now' might have been an interesting poignant way to wrap up the show.

He also directed. He directed the American version of "Three Men, and a Baby".
