Today Canada went to the poll to elect the next parliament.

Will Canada reelect the Conservative Party and their current Prime Minster to a 4th consecutive term?
Or are the Canadians truly sick of Conservative rule and restore the Liberal Party to power?

To form a majority government a party needs to win 155 sets out of 308 in the House of Commons.
The party that wins the most seats has the right to nominate the next Prime Minister.

Right now the Liberal Party is sweeping Atlantic Canada (Eastern part) dominating the other parties.
There is a very good chance Liberal Party will return to power with a majority government.

Will tonight be the night the Canadians return to their socialist roots?

Sweeping is a understatement... We will begin get a better idea of the results for the country in about half a hour, when the the results of the more important populations of the Alsama and Ontario and Québec.

So you want Canada to abandon it's transition to a capitalist free market system in order to return to the socialist system?

Atlantic Canada is not a huge surprise as they traditionally switch. The surprise is some long time NDP candidates have lost their seats. Quebec will be interesting to watch as well. Wonder if the NDP will hold the seats they picked up last election? Conservatives will start to pick up seats as Northern Ontario and the west start to come in.

Looks like the Liberals are going to win, only question is by how much. Taking Quebec certainly helped them.

Doesn't matter.
This vote is being interpreted as Canada rejecting capitalism and the U.S.

Not really rejecting capitalism but Canadians in general certainly don't like US style politics.

Rejecting their relationship with the U.S.
I'm all for cutting Canada off and force them to pull their own weight in North America and world.

Need 170 now as 30 new seats were added making a total of 338 for this election instead of the previous 308.
