A law-abiding responsible gun owner strikes again.
Texas mother, a vocal gun rights advocate, killed by police after fatally shooting her two daughters during 'family argument'
The law-abiding responsible gun owner posted that just before she Second Amendmented her two daughters. Damn Democrats trying to protect a couple of girls from their dingbat mother with a gun.
Its sickening how long gun violence has gone on in USA (and the world really).
Politics in USA are especially corrupt. Anytime something big happens (Florida incident as a big recent example)- there is outcry for more gun control laws. But then it dies down.. because democrats and republicans are whiny little brats that only care about their own agendas! Elected officials should be working for ALL the people, not just their personal friends. It doesn't help that NRA likely has bribes to many people in power.
In my view- there is no good reason for any person (except for military, police, etc) to own most types of guns. I can understand protection to a point- but thats simply a handgun. You don't need a semi-automatic for that. As for hunters- fine you can have your guns, but background checks need to happen.
It still puzzles me why people on "no fly list" arent more restricted? They are suspicious (and many times have done something wrong in the past) so its very likely they will do it again. Many just wait for the right time- "oh I'll just wait until I'm not being monitored as much..so I can do something" is the likely mindset of these sick individuals.
It's just sickening that its 2016 and still so much gun violence (and just violence in general). Most times its over race, religion and money. So lame that people can't just respect each other's views in a peaceful manner. Everyone doesn't have to agree with everyone else. People that disagree shouldn't be shot, period. ![]()
The only gun law necessary is the one that says everyone must carry a firearm and use it anytime they feel threatened, even if only moderately threatened. The #1 issue facing humanity today is our bloated population, "shoot first ask questions later" is the type of mentality that will solve that issue, especially if everyone is doing it (i.e. "the cool kids").
(Perhaps I'm a bit cranky, it's like 5 in the morning here and I want more sleep).
It's interesting that much of the media - including the original article posted here - is concealing an important detail in the murders.- one of the murdered daughters was to have been married in a few days to

It could be an American honor killing by a lily white bigot who objects to Hispanics. At least, we all know that's it would have been portrayed as an honor killing by the media had the mother been a Muslim, rather than just a mentally-ill gun nut.

Everything in the US is about capitalism and the rights of corporations to make as much profit as possible with as little or no regulation as possible. The politicians don't hesitate to walk all over the constitutional rights of US citizens, but they will never interfere with the rights of corporations to make a dollar. The gun nuts think their fighting for their rights is the reason they have Second Amendment rights, which is 100% BS. The reason the gun laws are what they are is because the gun industry pays millions of dollars to the politicians, to block any and all gun regulations, so they can continue to make billions of dollars by selling firearms to murders.
The air line industry doesn't pay that much money to the politicians because they don't need to. They can make a good profits without flying terrorists on their planes. But the gun industry needs to sell guns to murders, terrorists, and other criminals, because those are their best customers, and by encouraging terror attacks and mass murder, other people get scared and buy even more guns. Thats how they sell more guns in the US then in any other country in the world.
It's all about corporate profits. The politicians could care less that tens of thousands of Americans are dying because of gun violence. Lives are expendable, but corporate profits are not.
Imagine if Cho, Holmes, the Orlando shooter et. al. pulled their BS in a corporate boardroom or state assembly building as opposed to bars, theaters, and schools. We'd have some of the strictest gun control laws in the world if that happened. But that's kind of the point-- most state assembly houses, governor's mansions, corporate board rooms, etc, have gun control laws (along with metal detectors, and real armed security-- not just a mall cop with a taser). It's fine that the "little man" is killing himself because it generates profits, but that s**t better not trickle up the hierarchy.

Little chance of that happening. The corporate boardroom is on the 50th floor of some building and they have armed security guards and metal detectors downstairs in the lobby to make sure nothing like that happens. Same for the politicians who empower these gun nuts. The capital is a gun free zone, just like the NRA head quarters. The elites are safe.

And the poor woman had to worry about the Democratic gun grabbers trying to take her gun and preventting her from carrying out the honor killing on her family.
Anytime you hear a gun nut claim they need a gun to protect their family, be scared, and ask yourself, why that person has so many enemies that want to hurt their family that badly.

This isn't a case of both sides do it. It has been democrats and democratic organizations pushing for improved gun control laws. Republicans have been doing everything in their power to never let a vote through lest they offend the NRA.

That's true to a point- democrats have been trying to do more for gun control. However there's been times when democrats have had the house and/or senate majority.. right? They didn't do much then (correct me if I'm wrong, I don't follow politics all the time). I'm really hoping they can get house and senate later this year, then perhaps some change can happen. Its doubtful but who knows..
Nothing will get done by the Democrats - they are just all talk. They need to put their own guns up or shut the hell up! And Harry Reid is the biggest doofus of them all.

The last time Democrats had a filibuster proof majority is just after Obama was elected and it was only a couple of months later when Ted Kennedy died and Scott Brown was sworn in. As a result Republicans were able to filibuster everything democrats proposed. Nancy Pelosi had passed 350 bills that died in the senate due to Republican obstructionism. But during those two months democrats had control they passed passed Lily Ledbetter, the stimulus and many other very substantial pieces of legislation. Despite all the Republican intransigence, Obama is still set to be one of the most productive presidents in the last 75 years.
wouldn't say she's law abiding or responsible..of course there was no way to really know that before she jumped off the edge. i do wonder if she would have passed a more rigorous inspection had there been one.
i also wonder if future guns could have some kind of extra safety backup thing...like for your average citizen who has passed the *rigorous inspection* the gun is locked for a certain amount of time before it can be fired...maybe there could be an added level of access like concealed carry only this one allows the locking mechanism to be overruled, which immediately notifies the police because obviously some s**t is going down. i'm not saying these ideas are necessarily viable, but complicated issues like the gun debate would benefit from more new ideas and less apathetic activism.
--warning, stereotypical misanthropic brain-fart ahead--
gun violence is tragic, but it seems to me like people are more concerned with protecting themselves from having to face tragedy, and want to feel like they're doing or, most likely, thinking something to help. and this news story in particular is perfect because not only is it a white middle class pro gun texas mother who shot both of her own daughters, but also those daughters were smart, kind, motivated, and pretty. they worked as babysitters caring for innocent little American children, one of them was studying in college to become an active member of the workforce, and the other was on the same track. they were good people and model US citizens, and the attack on them by their own mother is extremely surprising and terrifying. it's a foul display of human garbage with access to deadly weapons, and it hits close to home. this story is viral because it has an obvious motive. it wants to make people feel like banning guns from all citizens is the only way to improve the current state of gun violence, which leaves little room for independent thought. why think when it's easier to pick a side with millions of built-in allies and pre-made arguments? and why think when you can't help but feel overwhelmingly sad and angry that this sort of thing happens in the world, in the US, in the place where you can have an impact if you're part of the swarm?
(Perhaps I'm a bit cranky, it's like 5 in the morning here and I want more sleep).
this resonates with me. perhaps i'm cranky too; obama is taking away my super cool AR-15!! (just kidding)
They werent packing heat themselves.
It was up to them to get the drop on Mom first, and plug her first before Mom killed them!
unfortunately the daughters were pro gun-bans and could not protect themselves adequately with their throwing knives.
