But even if his lawyers, or fans (like you), are to invoke insanity, then he would have to own up and admit that he perpetrated the(admittedly insane, and inane) crime first. You cant have it both ways- insist that he didnt do it, AND insist that he is "not guilty by reason of insanity".
errr, not sure where you get the idea I'm his fan? He's out on appeal and is taking somewhat of a risk in not taking responsibility for his actions. I'm not sure how good his lawyer is but I'm assuming they will make some of plea deal and he'll be on probation for a few years so long as he keeps his nose clean.
Secondly he might justify his life is in danger in prison given he won't get protection from the prisoners.
The Sherri Pappini case remains a double standard in that she used money donated from a gofundme page to pay off her fines. She hasn't had to spend one day in jail or pay 1 cent in fines out of her pocket. Would like to see her get the same sentence.
Are you suggesting he might hire a couple of Nigerians to beat him up in gaol to gain celebrity and sympathy?
Not really, I'm thinking his presence in prison might unite the white/black prisoners for the first time as they take turns with him. I wouldn't be surprised if he cites fear for his safety as one of his defences.

Is that something you want to happen?

Go to prison? no I think he needs to pay back every cent it cost to compensate the time and resources he wasted. He then needs to have a psych evaluation to determine if he needs help.
