Custer was a bonehead out seeking personal publicity in order to run against Grant in the next election. If he hadn't been so blinded by personal aggrandizement, he might have taken more care in entering the Little Big Horn region.
I like to think the Israeli army teaches better discipline.

Ah, but he wanted to have the image of him sweeping along on horseback in the public's minds, and dragging that cumbersome Gatling gun along would have slowed down his magnificent sweeping along on horseback.

Israel and Palestine have such a rich history and culture. It's such a shame to see them destroying each other. Haven't they figured out by now that it does nothing to solve the underlying problems both sides are experiencing?

Perhaps some day, someone more progressive will rise to a position of power in both nations (I know, Israel is not recognized as a nation by many in the world) and will finally put an end to these senseless atrocities.
