charged after hiring strippers for son's 16th birthday

So anyway, 17 yr old watching strippers seems to be fairly normal these days.


Are you suggesting that if 17 year old kids watching a stripper is "fairly normal", then so is 13 year old boys getting lap dances?

My wife tells me how back when she was a pre-teen, her aunt was thrown a birthday party complete with a male stripper. My wife's mother had told her to put a dollar in the male dancer's thong - I'll repeat, she was only a pre-teen. So my wife said she instead walked outside and waited on the back porch till it was over.

No that's not what I said. I said many 17 yr olds (at least in Australia) think strippers are part of the general entertainment associated with bars and nightclubs.

I think (in retrospect) she just thought a guy my age would watch the strippers have a few drinks and then take her home. I didn't get the whole dating thing and she thought I was gay or something. I never did have the guts to sleep with anyone I dated (Australian girls are pretty blunt and go straight to the point). I had to go overseas where I met my future wife.

I don't really see it as wrong if they had organised it for themselves, but their mum doing it does seem quite odd.

This is just another case of an irresponsible parent thinking doing things like this is right for children.

That is a whole different ballgame, really.


The point of this story is, my mother-in-law had tried to make my wife as an under aged girl to do something that was inappropriate for her age. My wife in fact had shown better judgement than her mother had.

This is what our society is coming to. We don't want to enter into a "brave new world" where stuff like this is normal. Everyone involved in that incident should get at least some jail time for indecent behavior. The more we let things like this happen, the more it will become the norm.
