Chicago: Black Teen Shot 16 Times by White Cop
Yes, but not so much in practice. If everyone's life mattered, then that young man would not have been shot in the back, then shot multiple times as he lay dying on the street. Unequal treatment by the police makes the call for Black Lives Matter a necessity. Whites rarely believe their lives are in danger from the police, while blacks have an altogether different experience.
Yes. I would not argue that blacks are not often persecuted by the system. What I disagree with is some of the ways that I've seen this movement conduct themselves. I fully acknowledge that I might just be seeing fringe elements of a very large movement. But, I've seen representatives from this group accuse all white people of racism. I've seen them blame all white people for the phenomenon of slavery. Many of them seem to be enamored with the idea that the white race is inherently sinful in ways that non white people are not.
This kind of Illiberal rhetoric is not born out historically or biologically. It hinders serious analysis, and causes needless division.
I'd recommend reading through their principles on their website if you haven't already. I'd be curious to know what people think.

What I have read about "Black Lives Matters" from random news:
-BLM rioting/damaging/burning cities
-BLM shuts down transit service
-BLM shuts down roads
-BLM pisses off customers by storming a business
-BLM yelling obscene things at people while preventing them from leaving
-BLM disrupts people
So, they project the image that black people are "punks".
This should make people fear and hate blacks even more.

You shoot until the threat is neutralised. By the video it looks like the cop went way past that rule and maybe that there was no reason to shoot at all. I'll let the jury decide.

Yes, but when BLM acts up like they do so many times they have a reverse effect and thier potential supporters begin to think, "Hey, maybe they really do need a heavy controlling hand and only understand the message of pain".
People call it like they see it.

But how much of this is reported by reputable news sources, and how much is reported by Fox and right wing radio? A recent Black Lives Matter rally held in Seattle was attended by a majority of whites - how many of those that fault was found with were conducted with black majorities?

1. There is no reputable news source except maybe (and only maybe) for some local ones. They all have their agendas and feel it is thier civic duty to enlighten the unwashed masses.
2. As for BLM; first impressions are lasting impressions when making an impression on the public. They go with what they see.

CNN is pretty reputable, in my opinion. Sure, they've screwed up from time to time, but are for the most part honest.

CNN won't show you topics like:
"Capitalism working well in America"
"White people: how we love them"
"Experts say Global Warming is a Hoax"
Instead you get:
"Corporate Greed" / $15 minimum wage fight / sad poverty story
"Black in America" (how minorities survive in racist America)
"Global Warming Threats"

That's because too many people are left behind by capitalism, just because they're penalized for being content to be working stiffs rather than being big business owners.
We white people are already on top of the heap, so why do we need feel good news stories propping us up, while ignoring unequal treatment of everyone else?
And who says global warming is a hoax, except for those scientists who have sold their souls to be corporate shills?
Besides, that alternative horsesh*t is already being promoted daily by Fox.

I also have defended cops in the past. I do not defend this one. I also think we need to get to the point where every cop has a body camera.
As far as this Black Lives Matter movement, I really don't like them either. They are so obnoxious that it is like they are trying to turn more people against them. Plus they are so focused on the police brutality issue but they don't care about poverty, unemployment, gang violence, or any of the other problems in the black communities.

Really? I always found that while MSNBC has a left wing slant, they never misled their audience with false facts as Fox regularly does.
