Also, Celiac disease, a real health problem, can sometimes mimic some of the symptoms of autism, which is why shortly after someone "fixes" their Celiac kid by removing gluten and casein from their diet, so many forums get flooded with people pushing GFCF diets as "the cure" for autism. Some of the parents can be reasoned out of this by pointing out where careful, peer-reviewed research contradicts their generalization from anecdotal data; others continue on with their overemotional proselytizing.

Personally, the only health problem I experience on a regular basis is acid reflux, which afflicts every male member of my family (even my NT brother!).

i do have sensory issues myself. when i'm mowing lawns, i 'd scream my head off under the stress of the loud engine (this was going on for years now). i can't bear the sound of a gas mower or edger. i learned to get around it by listening to a radio with headphones. that makes a hell of a difference for me. but still, there are certain sounds that put me under a lot of strain.
