I can't help believing that the right-wingers in charge of places like Michigan just don't give a damn about the health and welfare of most of their citizens, only thing that matters to them is the almighty buck.

And the fact is, the kind of political ideology that stands for less government in people's lives (that is, actually helping people) are more likely to be the ones who have no compunction about hurting people, or doing nothing when people are hurt.

that sounds like an antisocial personality disorder to me, or at least a dissocial subset.

Well, Bill Maher did say that politicians on the right are missing an empathy gene which lets them see someone else' suffering, and think that they might be in pain.

yeh, in this nation, more often than not, it is such empathy-addled-but-charisma-supercharged janus-faced folks who rise up the ladder of power to lord it over the rest of us.

How about those dumb ass liberals!

What a bunch of morons!

It's like their brains are missing something!

We should declare it a mental illness!

Yeah!

^
Does anyone think a thread that read like that would be acceptable here?

Well, how is anything we wrote incorrect about the right refusing to take responsibility for public welfare in places like Flint, save when their hand is forced? That's the difference between this thread, and your tirade against liberals. And I thought conservatives and libertarians were supposed to be against political correctness.

Man, these liberals, who I shall not name, are even dumber than I thought!

I can't believe they think that not specifically naming anyone makes what they say less insulting!

What a bunch of idiots, they can't even figure out that this is parody!

Good thing I'm not directly insulting anyone, right?

Yes, Michael Moore is right. But it's also a fact that Snyder had appointed that unelected emergency manager over Flint in more recent years, who hadn't done anything about the water till the auto industry was affected.

And Flint is hardly the only city in Michigan that Snyder's pulled that stunt on. And take a wild guess what all these cities that have had emergency managers forced on them have in common.

Good guess. He's a Republican.

chances are they will find some way to ostentatiously reward him for his misconduct in office. no foul deed goes unrewarded.

Actually, the Mayor of Flint is working on just that.
