Yes. I remember seeing a documentary showing monkey brains being eaten while the animal was still alive. I find it difficult to judge cultures that I don't fully understand however cruel they may be. Rats are also a delicacy there.

IDK but it's a terrible thing to watch and a difficult mindset to understand. The cruelty is incomprehensible.

It's likely a combination of what is taught (moral relativity) and fear (the prospect of the same thing happening to you).

I just watched actual youtube video of live monkeys being tied up on a restaurant table in China followed by the chef carefully removing the skull while the monkey screams. The family watch impassively waiting to tuck in (I don't want to post the link here because it will give people nightmares).

There's also videos of live donkeys, dogs, snakes, fish, bats, rat babies being eaten while alive. There's a young (rather attractive) girl eating newborn mice which apparently scream while they are in her mouth. She seems to enjoy the experience.

Another example of animal cruelty is feeding live goats to big cats in zoos much to the cheers of the onlooking crowd. Again it's too distressing to post the videos which can be readily viewed on youtube.

The point is there seems to be a cultural norm that allows for people to do what they want to animals. However to be fair the Chinese government is trying to outlaw some of these practices.

This "Mother Nature" of yours is nothing more than a personification of a primitive concept.  I own my thoughts and my emotions. They are no one's responsibility but my own.  Deal with it.

Spider Pig, Spider Pig, does whatever a Spider Pig does...can he swing from a bridge... No he can't...cause he's a pig.

There is no excuse for the deliberate torture of an animal. They are not playthings. It's just plain sick.

The theme park has apologised but I feel it's more because they were embarrassed by the bad publicity and were in damage control

Regarding the treatment of this pig....

Apparently there is a myth that dogs and cats transmit the virus (which is totally false).

I just don't understand how you could develop a loving relationship with your dog or cat and then murder them in cold blood out of sheer ignorance/fear?

Something seriously wrong with this society
