Hello elbow grease. The fires are scary. My sister-in-law sent me pictures. They were in the Mt Whitney area. The pictures are orange, just like you said. She described it as apocalyptic.

Take care. If evacuations are called for, go. Like I said above, have any meds, IDs, important papers ready to go.

I think nobody left theirs homes, there were only warning alerts, to prepare people to evacuate if they have to. There are updates, there are ALOT of firemen working very hard to stop the fire & there are airplanes with water, the water look like pink lemonade

I have seen gray skies for a couple of days; Day before yesterday the sun was deep orange in the afternoon; strangely beautiful, but SCARY!
I am so sorry for those close to the inferno, the preventable, avoidable inferno!
The military has been called in and has already sent men and helicopters.
OVER a million acres lost!!

Reportedly, the fires are burning at 1000 acres per 30 seconds in California.

We are losing the only truly good and beautiful thing about California....
The wilderness.

Doing ok here today. Still pretty smoky, but at least not the terrifying apocalyptic orange that blocks out the sun. Got some decent pictures of it yesterday but can't post them here.

The air quality is poor, it’s so incredibly worse. People here can smell smoke in their houses, they can get sore throats, running nose, headaches, coughing, people with asthma having a harder time breathing. I seen alot of pics of mountains on fire, sooo much fire, it’s sooo sad, I’m depressed now. I wasn’t feeling well this morning, I been coughing since yesterday, I can smell some smoke too.

This is so sad.

Oregon officials are preparing for a “mass fatality incident,” as wildfires merge. 26 dead so far and dozens missing, but the death toll is going to skyrocket into the hundreds, thousands, or more. :/

My friend's daughter lives in San Francisco. and she can see the fires from their apartment. Very frightening! I hope you and everyone going through this stay safe!
