True, this is not actually a case of something that would affect Putin, so much as a symptom. Businesses and organizations of all kinds are banning/firing Russians. Educational institutions are cancelling Russian student visas. There's this desire to not be associated whatsoever with Russia, which has inspired other unofficial efforts that have led to repercussions for people who had nothing to do with the invasion. It's certainly misguided, but emotions are running high right now.

I'm not really in the topic so the following may be wrong in this case but:
Even in much more mundane conflicts, people often blame their bans on their nationality/race/political align/religion or lack of it/other things like that - to avoid acknowledging their own personal misconducts.

I didn't study the case of this lady so I don't know if it applies to her or not. But it's common.
