New Interstellar Object Could be Alien

NASA have the option to point telescopes and cameras at Atlas 31 on Sept 25 (10 days away) as it passes Mars. we might be able to get collect more data on it's properties.

the fermi paradox is akin to a blind cave slug living underground telling another blind cave slug that nothing exists above their cave because they haven't seen it.

I know how scientists think, (I've worked with them for years). they will ridicule and gaslight open minded investigators as charlatans and frauds but when evidence suddenly stares them in the face they will pivot and say "we knew all along! we were just being cautious, now move aside and leave the investigations to us as we are real scientists not pseudoscientists"

Ultimately we shall see. I've personally witnessed objects doing things that defy the laws of physics as far back as the 1970s. My grandfather and great aunt (who were staunch Christians and were sticklers for honesty) both claim to have regularly seen orbs of various sizes in the Australian bush as far back as 1914 which is barely a decade after Orville and wright lashed some Spruce wood together and got it to fly at Kittyhawk.

I know these things exist but happy for you to call them swamp gas or a product of an overactive imagination. Doesn't change what I (and probably 100s of thousands of others) have witnessed.

People pretend there's nothing to worry about, but why does this feel like doomsday?

Now 3I Atlas is getting brighter > normal comet

technically if one of these multiple comets smash into Jupiter, Mars or the sun (put aside the earth), I'm not sure your basement is going to delay the inevitable by much. Might enjoy several cans of tuna and beans before...well you know.

And if one does hit earth...well cheerio everyone, nice knowing you all.

^^^ Yeah I remember that. Again these ones (particularly I31 Atlas) are much bigger so could cause something untoward in Jupiter's or Mar's orbit. truth is there's not much we can do anyway. May as well be giant Y2K bugs. Nobody pays heed. People are more preoccupied with the football or the Kardashians > impending unknown interstellar objects.

Keep in mind the forward tail (light being emitted in front of the object) if not artificial is defying our understanding of the laws of physics. Otherwise it looks like car headlights.

I31 Atlas is still scoring a 4/10 on the Loeb scale. Once the first Mars pictures come through we will know more.

It would not be an inelastic collision. Even if it were, the orbital effects would be vanishingly small.
