Um, why would a woman even WANT to go shirtless?? I'm a woman, and keeping myself covered is VERY important to me. Not only does keeping myself covered help maintain my dignity as a woman, but it's important to me not to be guilty of making another person sin by the way I dress.

Good point, women should cover up their bodies completely and feel shameful because even bearing a little skin can 'cause lust in a guy, try a Burka. Who cares what the facts are? They're only "facts" after all, like the crazy "fact" that the captial of France is Paris! I'd like to see somebody prove that ! ! lolololololol

  Deus........

I agree with you Susy, but I also believe that if women want to do that, they should be able to.

why?

Because it's about freedom of expression/speech, and it has nothing to do with sin. Dignity, yes, but sin? I don't see it as sinning. If women want to do that, and expose what God has given them, then let them. If you remember that in Genesis, that Adam and Eve were both naked and not ashamed of it, course until they ate knowledge and realized it, but that's beside the point...the point is, that women have always had to obey more strict laws on everything since then, and in the middle east, you can get stoned for not having the proper everything if you're a woman, which I find UTTERLY disgusting.

Lust, sexual thoughts/perversions, have nothing to do with it. It's all about natural impulses that we have been surpresing since the Fall.

Don't roll your eyes at me young man, I've been making people laugh since before you were born!

  Well if you want to go into specifics, then technically yes you are older. But that's only a fact, and who cares about that?

I remember in the Women's world Cup a few years ago, after the USA won, Mia Hamm removed her Jersey top. When asked about it later she said that if a man had done it, nothing would be made about it, seeing as it was quite common. So, why shouldn't a woman be able to do it. Then again, at least she was wearing a sports bra, and not nothing.

True.

But I'm waiting for Susy Q to respond to my question.

though brilliant point Ddrapayo. If a man can do it, then why not a woman? Again nothing sexual about it.

Susy? I assume you plan on answering.

I'm 50. I'm older than both of you put together...;) so simmer down...;)

I'm shocked; shocked and outraged. Are there any pictures?...;)

I went to St. Maartin's once to a topless beach. Uh...you'd be surprised how many people look better with their clothes on...;)

The best solution would be to have private pools where the owners set the rules and people choose with their money what they prefer. The owner of each pool will choose to go with whatever the majority prefers.

Public pools aren't good. First, the government sets the rules. Secondly, everyone including those who don't use them are forced to pay for them through taxes. If it's private, those who actually use them pay and they set the rules. It's more fair for everyone.
