How can a keyboard, which usually doesn't come in contact with human waste, be dirtier than a toilet, which does? If I pissed and shat all over my keyboard instead of in the bowl, then I could see how that coud be true. C'mon people, the dirtiest things a keyboard sees are dust and food-particles. This myth looks doubtful, but don't expect me to test it.

Don't believe everything you read.

1. As LeKiwi said, toilets are cleaned on a regular basis, keyboards aren't.

2. Even a very clean, hygiene-conscious person has lots of bacteria all over their body. Staph bacteria, for example, are normally harmless eaters of dead skin unless they get into a wound.

3. Our hands come into contact with so many things that they spread microbes around very easily even if you wash them a lot.

So this all surmises that a toilet is less filthy than a keyboard?

Have you ever used a highway rest-stop bathroom?

WAAAY dirtier than any keyboard, believe me.

Well, I don't pee on my keyboard and I don't type on my toilet--- the risk of cross contamination then is quite small.

Everyone says that a toilet is cleaner. They haven't been to every toilet, and I doubt they'll eat off of one, let alone touch one.

Might as well not use anything. Cellphones carry germs, pay phones, doorknobs, everything.

Meh. Wutevah.

It's generally a good practice to wash the hands frequently, instead of worrying about all the possible contaminants on the surfaces of objects. You can scare yourself to death!
