I blame video games.

They've instilled in some people the notion that if a life is 'ruined', then one can simply end that life, and start fresh with a new one... the biological equivalent of pressing the reset button...

Probably has more to do with religion filling people's heads with BS about a wonderful happy place up in the clouds, especially as this happened in a red Jesusland state.

That is one of the stupidest posts I've ever read on these boards.

Interesting many people seem to have an opinion formed already.

Now for my input. How was the mother ruining him? What were his reasons? Were the reasons good enough to end his only child's life? (even I would doubt he would have a good reason for ending his life like this)

I think there is more on this story that is being withheld and why?

Killing is never the answer. Period.

Killing a child "because his mother was ruining him" is still wrong. Just like it was wrong of Andrea Yates to kill her kids because she thought she was ruining them. She thought she was a bad mother so she killed them to send them to a better place. To me, that spells out I-N-S-A-N-I-T-Y. Same as the father who killed his aspie son.

No, that would be the one you just posted, yeah?

Anyway, it sucks that the kid was killed, but maybe it wasn't about AS; without more information, it's impossible to tell. Regardless, I feel sorry for him.
