i heard about parents breaking their childrens arms and legs or causing infections and gaping wounds for profit but kidnap and amputation? it just goes to show that evil is evolving.

Fighting evil isn't always about physical, literal fighting. Evil comes from the Enemy, who works tirelessly to corrupt & destroy the human race. Resisting that evil need not involve literal warfare.
Ever hear of a Christian soldier?

isn't that supposed to be the prefered way to deal with evil?

at my first school the headmaster proclaimed the whole 'turn your cheek' speech and i thought it was a terrible lesson to teach children, in other words if someone's beating you ask for more?
sure, let the innocent suffer and at the same time let the villains do whatever they like. i guess i'm simply not christian enough to understand it

I, too, have reservations about a belief system where the members are likened to 'sheep' fit only to be herded by a 'Shepherd.'
but I suppose that was comforting to folks back in that time period. It was never all that appealing to me.
