France declared war on Germany, WWI, to block German Turkish links, and after fighting Germany to a standstill, joined the British in breaking up the Ottoman Empire and reducing the parts to slave colonies. 1917 was not the start of European invasion.
The British wanted the Suez Canal, and oil had been discovered in 1912, that belonged to someone else. They wanted it, so World War One was an intentional homicide. The British wanted a direct route to bring military force against India, who grew cotton which was shipped to England to be spun and woven, then shipped back to India as a monopoly. India was also forbidden to make salt. Another monopoly, and they were forced to produce Opium to be sold at gun point in China. This is why the Queen is rich, she had a monopoly in blood, oil, and dope pushing.

The result was breaking the Middle East into British and French Mandates, a term meaning self elected and having the most firepower. Old, broad, deep rooted cultures were destroyed, partitioned, and cut out of economic life and trade. Government was done in English and French. Some areas, the French in Algeria, had been 265 years of occupation and rule as slaves. The Algeria War of Liberation was long and hard, the French murdered millions.
The German recovery and the economic miracle of National Socialism offered a new model for slave colonies to become self supporting, self ruling, and free of parasitic Empires. So France and Britain declared war on Germany again. World War Two was against self elected world rulers, and for freedom for everyone else.
Algeria and Viet Nam took a while longer than most, but freedom came, except for the last European Colony created at the end of WWII, the Mandate of Palestine, where the British started a new colony.
The Great Powers Game formed the United Nations, and declared that none of the borders they had drawn could be changed.
Guns were supplied, governments set up to continue economic control.
Every effort to link the area was fought. The long lived Turkish Empire had a common language, money, laws, and open trade. All efforts to revive a pan Arabic common market and an Arabic Union of Nations was fought.
This left nothing but religion as a unifying force. That is why religion is the leading force today.
The government the great powers are trying to overthrow, Syria, is National Socialism. So were Iraq, Libya, who with Iran, were going to sell oil for Euros, Gold, what have you. The Saudis price oil in dollars for all, so the dollar is supported. They also fund religion, and terrorist.
It was Saudis at the World Trade Towers, Osama in Afghanistan leading people back a thousand years to fight Russian economic development. Afghanistan is one of the largest mineral deposits on earth, and the British lost two wars trying to recover the Queens lost mines.
Parasitic Empires want the natural resources, and the people have only religion.
The West has little religion, and even the Crusades were about loot and booty. They have under estimated the power of religion, where there is no other choice. Algeria and Viet Nam had two choices, die fighting, or win. A lot of people died over twenty-five years before they won. They did not have the Banks and Factories, the loot from the world, they had only blood and faith in their cause. They were going to die anyway, and freeing their people was a worthy cause.
India, China, Islam, if you killed a hundred thousand a day, their population would never decrease. WWI and The Spanish Flu killed a hundred million, and world population went up. WWII killed another hundred million and world population went up. A year and a half of bombing ISIS, maybe 10,000 died. 30,000 joined, this is not a war that can be won.
In 1960 very few Islamic girls wore the head scarf, they wore makeup and tight jeans, they went to school, university, and got good jobs. Sure, everyone was Islamic, like all Americans are Christian. Our most devout go to church on Christmas and Easter, less devout for weddings, funerals, and most have been in a church once in the last ten years.
The rise of Militant Islam was the only path open to social unity. Sure, some people say things like Homosexuals in San Francisco cause tornados, and expect Jesus to return any day, but those are ours. We also have followers of Satan, and Mormons. A third of our population is on happy pills. They should not drive, operate machinery, or vote.
After Algeria, millions dead, there was a pause, where there was hope, before we bombed Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, which caused a religious revival, as they gathered often for funerals. Obama has been droning people in another half dozen countries.
We are killing people who are protesting us killing people. They protest by killing people. They are getting good at it.
Just an odd thought, we could just leave them alone.
