Two things
1. Posters here have presented good empirical evidence that hate crimes have increased since Trump's election
2. We are waiting to hear more about this woman's political affiliation...the police have kept a lid on any further information

I would conversely suggest that those of you rushing to claim this has nothing to do with Trump are equally guilty of projecting your own bias, we actually don't know what this woman's motivation was but using critical analysis (something the Trump supporters are incapable of) the theory she was emboldened by Trump's constant racist rhetoric is actually quite plausible

Yes isn't it strange that people are more concerned about not blaming Trump than concern over the rise of these type of hate crimes and the danger they pose to innocent people.

Okay, different terminology - why jump to Trump's defense at every verbal dirty look directed at him?

Shoe thrown at yowling cats.

So you're saying that you're only irritated with the alleged barrage of criticism leveled at Trump, and not because you believe he isn't really a racist, a swindler, and a traitor?

Can you really not grasp how one thread after another on a daily basis about the same topic where the same things are said over and over again, over a course of years is tiring and annoying?

It would be just as tiring and annoying if 5 people made daily anti-biden, anti-sanders, anti-warren (whoever runs against trump) posts/threads on a daily basis.

It would be just as tiring and annoying if 5 people had made 867836356 pro-trump posts/threads on a daily basis over the course of years.

Spam is spam.

The same could be said about your constant defense of Trump, all the while denying his many egregious faults as a President, a businessman, and as a human being. Or those of some of his followers.

I don't start threads about Trump.

A bit...I mean I don't blame Trump, it is clear to me these race issues were not actually resolved during the civil rights movement. So its been swept under the carpet for decades and its rising its ugly head now...I think some of Trumps rhetoric has helped that but it would be silly to blame it on him since it's quite clear it's just been lingering under the surface for decades.

But yeah its like some of his rhetoric could encourage crimes against hispanic and/or mexican people, in people who are looking for an excuse to harm those people. But yeah it is concerning that some people rather than wanting to address the issue just fight as hard as they cant to argue 'its not trump' like in this post someone just mentioned they think Trumps rhetoric could have encouraged this crime and people are freaking out about how the O.P must be anti-american just for pointing that out. Like yeah earth to people there is worldwide media following the U.S people in other countries can see what is happening here maybe some of them can see it more objectively than U.S citizens beings they are not citizens so many things that happen here do not personally effect them.

I might vote for some other Republican. I would never vote for Trump.

He’s more a World Wide Federation wrestler than a President.

Exactly - the people defending Trump know as POTUS he is responsible for his own words - making throw away comments that racially vilify Mexicans and black people reinforce existing negative bias

Russia’s attempt to exert influence over the 2016 election was far from an isolated incident tied to one campaign, but one part of a “broader, sophisticated, and ongoing information warfare campaign” designed to divide America by inflaming cultural, political, and social tensions. The influence operations began long before 2016 and remain active today, the report says.

The report says that although the IRA’s [Russian Internet Research Agency] purchase of online ads on platforms like Facebook received considerable attention from the press and the public, the ads really weren’t all that important. The number of ads Russian operatives bought and used to target American users paled in comparison to the tweets, YouTube videos, Reddit comments, and Facebook and Instagram posts created and shared by IRA operatives posing as normal users. The group made over 61,500 Facebook posts, 116,000 Instagram posts, and 10.4 million tweets, all aimed at sowing discord and inflaming tensions among Americans, says the report.

No Russian agency is going to take notice of an obscure sparsely populated antiquated forum.

I wonder why even an individual would try any such a thing here, considering there's only a tiny handful of people it would reach.

This is not the ASD community. It's a tiny amount of autistics who aren't on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Reddit, Snapchat, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Pinterest etc. If a list was made of the most used forms of social media, WP would be at the bottom of that list.

For what it's worth, WP is more active than any diecast forum online. It's several times more active than the largest diecast forum. It's probably as big or bigger than any fine scale modelling hobby forums; I'm not the guy to ask but I'd bet it's bigger than any model train forum too.

It's not big, but no where near the smallest. Internet forums are one context the coast line paradox can be seen.

But how many of them were actual hate crimes and how many of them were hoaxes? This incident probably is authentic. Hopefully she does rot in prison.

The hoax theory was started by the republicans who were embarrassed by the spike in hate related vandalism and other acts of racism shortly after Trump's inauguration.

Nobody on the left would commit acts of violence or vandalism for fun. For example these images below were claimed by Trump supporters to be fake.

Infact nobody ever owned up (what a surprise) however the local police strongly suspect local white teens wanting to cause trouble. Images like this were widely published on buzzfeed and other media and have inspired right wingers to become emboldened including republican politicians like Tenessee candidate Rick Tyler

It's interesting that you think that none of this is a reaction to Antifa, the constant barrage of white shaming. None of this stuff existed before 2016 elections? The cop killings, the DACA... The everybody in the US deserves a shot except poor white kids, veterans, our own homeless.

You guys just want to hate. So, I leave you to your circle jerk. You can jack each other off on your hate.

The cop killings were largely tied to sovereign citizens, even the ones by black cop killers. Sovereign citizen ideology shows up in both the white nationalist movement and black Hebrew/Israelite/black Muslim (not orthodox Muslims though...) circles.

ANTIFA largely stick to defending leftie protesters from thugs affiliated with the white nationalist movement. It might be a reaction, but ANTIFA are a reaction to increasing violence from the right.

Who's "white shaming", exactly?

No, but you seemingly come to Trump's defense in every thread where he's mentioned.

Nah, that's just Trump trying to convince America that he doesn't hate Latinos.
